My waters broke at 4am new years eve at 35+5. I went in and they said I'd have to stay in and they'd have to induce me if I didn't go into labour by myself that day because of being pre-term and risk of infection.
By 5 I was having waves of back pain but was mostly fine. Examined at 7:45 and was 6cm and was fully dilated by 8:30. Baby arrived at 9:05 with the help of ventouse. The heart rate was dropping when I contracted and they just wanted baby out fast. I just have the tiniest tear and it really was fine. Maybe because our little girl is a teeny 4lbs 13oz. We are calling her Heidi. Despite being small she has no issues and is currently sleeping next to me on the noisest ward there ever was.
She doesn't feel like my baby yet, just a baby we've been given to look after. Is that weird? I think it's because I thought I had another month to get used to the idea. I was supposed to be at work yesterday!

OB i had v similar with my first. Waters went at 35+5, induced at 36 and out pooped baby I wasn't ready for. Took me a few days but I got there! Congratulations! Sounds like you if brilliantly. Heidi is a gorgeous name too. Just relax and give her lots of cuddles then oxytocin will come and the bond will start xxxx
