Hi Will, I am potentially interested in your RC aircraft bits - I've been into aeromodelling since I was a young lad and now I've retired I am thinking of trying to get back into it. Things have changed a lot I know!

Yay, the thread has put modellers in contact!

I thought about rc planes or gliders before I started cars. But I like the social and competitive side of cars. There's not much of that in aircraft is there? :-) G

Well, that's debatable. It depends which element of aero modelling you're talking about, but there are many different aspects of competition.

I used to see the glider guys flying up at one of the local hills when running. Great to see.

I might still try the planes.

Then there are boats. I don't like motor boats but RC sailing boats, they are fab! There used to be a little duck pond near where I lived and they raced these huge sailing boats, maybe 1 metre tall or more, mostly 70 year old blokes (actually, I was only in my 20s, so maybe I thought they were old men, but they were only the age I am now! :-O ) That looked fab. But again, not aware of many "clubs" as far as I know?

Do you or will you fly with a club NE?

:-) G

Many years ago I used to fly with Petersfield aero modellers, but haven't been in a club since. I know there are a few clubs in my area here in North Yorkshire.

Did you see the TV programme recreating of Battle of Britain with RC planes NE? That was fun. German modelling club and a British one coming together. :-) G

About This Thread

Maintained by HappyG(rrr)
I can't believe that we've got Crafts, Gardening, Computer Games, but not model cars, trains...!

Just don't call them toys!

My particular hobby was 1/10th scale radio controlled car racing. I'm now looking to get into radio controlled planes. We have some Airfix model builders in here and Lego builders too. Any type of model vehicles really! Planes, trains, automobiles... boats, helicopters, anything! Come join in! :-) G
