Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
Really, no one else is prepared to admit they play with toys, ahem, I mean enjoy very adult mature model making? I've extended it into buying toys for your kids/grand kids, if that's an excuse you need...?! Don't be embarrassed, just stand up and say "I like toys!" G |

I'm not ashamed to admit I still occasionally enjoy building Lego models (I type this looking at my Land Rover Defender, Ford Mustang, James Bond Aston Martin, and son's Millennium Falcon models).

Really, even at Christmas you lot don't do toys? No kids or grandkids getting Scalextric as pressies? No lego, train sets or toy cars? Crikey you could even have Hot Wheels plastic track if you like? No? No. Oh well, right off to find more sets suitable for 3yr old grandson. G |

Got a slot car racer for 3 year old grandson (not Scalextric, but pretty decent German clone thing). Yes, grandad and pals enjoyed it more than grandson. Any other good Christmas pressies bought/received? Happy New Year all. G |

Hopefully you’ve planted a seed HG, I think Scalextric was my best ever Xmas pressie, albeit a few years older. I bought my lad a FTX Torro 1/10th nitro for Xmas. It took a while to get going and run in but he loves it. It’s noisy and very fast necessitating trips to empty industrial estates, we’ll have to look at joining a localish track. Rubbish phone pics but it’s too fast 😀 |

So fast it's a blur! Cool Macca. Looks great. Glad you're enjoying it. Nitro is good - the noise is half the fun! I prefer electric now, as it's easier to get up and running, lower maintenance etc. but for just blasting around nitro is great. There are track races, mostly 1/8th for nitro I think. Link a video if you get round to doing one? G |

carrera-toys.com Carrera Police Chase - was £50 in Lidl at Christmas. Looking at £80 or E100 online? So an OK deal, I think. It has magnets, so the cars stick to track, fewer crashes. I think you can adjust that to make it more challenging. I did a very advance modification to make it slower for grandson - bit of rolled up paper stuck under the trigger and held on with a wrist band! G |

Can't believe I didn't look, but it's 1:43 scale, so not compatible with Scalextric, 1:32 scale. But... turns out they have a digital option, with 2 cars on same lane and overtaking! carreraslots.com G |

I still build airfix when I have time. Love it. Paint warhammer too!
