Ah no, quite stubby ones makeitbuildit.co.uk Yeah, 1700mAh is most I could find, I think. Shame. Surprised they only last 10 mins. Just need to get more of them and faster charger, like you are doing. ![]() |

Yes, saw that one earlier too. As you say, 3000mAh for 30 minutes, so 1200 for about 10 feels about right. I may invest in a better charger though, at the moment it is pretty much a dumb charger so I've no real awareness of whether I'm harming the battery via the charger or not. |

The smart one I linked to is AC I think - careful as some of them are DC and require a separate power supply (lots of stuff is 12V DC based, because things were powered from car battery and leisure battery sources). Some of them can do 2 batteries at same time, so even if it takes 30 mins, have 3 on rotation and I think you'd have continuous power?! ![]() |

Shame you can get 10,000mAh now for LiPo. My 5800mAh never run out basically! ![]() |

What do these things mean? LiPo/LiFe/LiHV/LiIon: 2-4S The numbers at the end in particular (I know the rest is the battery type!) |

2S is 2 cells (why S? I dunno. S for Cell, errr.) Individual battery within the pack. My LiPos are 2S, each 3.7V so 7.4V. A NiMH 6S is probably 6 x 1.2V so 7.2V. (You can actually see the cells in some types of packs). Motors and speed controllers will usually only be rated up to a certain "power", so 2S LiPo is often a limit for some ESCs. ![]() |

There's also a current rating, which is often how fast they can be charged, discharged and also peak current affects how fast the motor will go.

Ta; so my pack is a 6S as you suggest. The car that is coming on Wednesday for son's birthday is a 2S LiPO but that only has 1000mAh capacity; though I did buy a spare so there's at least 2 there. Smart charger seems a very sensible investment though. |

The charger at around that price point will do all types of battery - so I have NiMH, LiPo and LiFe batteries and it does all of them (you may need some connectors - just make up your own cables as adaptors). But probably only one at a time. Remember for LiPo to get a Fire Retardant Charging Bag. LiPos can catch fire and it's a spectacular thing outdoors, but very scary and dangerous indoors. ![]() |
