Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

NE, you might be able to follow the fence line off little shunner down to buttertubs and then back up over lovely seat and then drop down the way I did. That might not be too bad running

Think that'll be something around 8-9mi.

The gully down muker edge to greenseat gate isn't the easiest to spot from the fence line - it's big, but until you get ~500m or so down into it, it's not obvious.

Just finished reading "Just for Fun" by Selwyn Wright. A great read, which has made me pine for the fells! FGR gets a mention! 🙂

Ran from Embsay Res up to Crookrise crag, Rylstone cross and the memorial this morning.

We were then looking for a trod over to Thorpe Fell top, but couldn't spot one (plan was go from there down to upper barden res), so we heather bashed straight from the memorial down to the res, then back up and over to Embsay Crag.

Anyone know if there is a trod over to the trig up there? Looks like yes on satellite views, but it's not 100% clear.

Well, we made it to Great Shunner, 50mph+wind and thick clag. We just did an out and back, not much fun in those conditions.

I see United Utilities have decided that no races will be allowed on their land before the end of October. The message I've seen relates to races in the Glossop area but I would imagine the policy will be the same for all their land, including that in the Lakes.

Covid a perfect excuse to stop races. Worry is the longer they don’t continue the potentially harder it would be to re-start
