If Yorkshire extends to North Yorkshire, there are a bunch of easier races over the Moors throughout the year - Captain Cooks, Guisborough Three Tops, Glaisdale Rigg etc.

The FRA calendar is terrible for searching but does have most races in it - fellrunner.org.uk

(Apologies if already posted, on phone and hard to see)

I might be biased, but:

todharriers.co.uk

They're all pretty beginner-friendly, with mainly marked courses. And as long as a certain M70 from Otley keeps turning up you'll never be last :-)

Skyline this Saturday if you're in a rush to start. If I can convince my knackered old legs they're up to it, and I'm not too pissed after the rugby, I might have a crack at it too.

Thanks for the advice guys,

I have looked at the FRA website, but as said it's not very user friendly.

Done quite a lot of running in the Tod area, have 'run' up Stoodley Pike from most directions now. So it might be a good place to start. North Yorkshire sounds intriguing though. My debut will, however, be post Xmas.

It's the Burley Moor Run on Saturday morning (9th Nov), anyone up for it? Cracking little race, doesn't feature on the FRA calendar so probably doesn't get the exposure it deserves.

I believe it's where we first met, NE. Not sure about running it this weekend though.
