Thanks, though that would be the case. Looks like I'll be giving C v H a miss, I've now lent ALL my kit, full waterproof cover, map, whistle, waist pack, race vest, to a colleague who entered ToP then asked me if he really needed all the kit listed *rolls eyes*. Asked him if he's been out for a recce, he's not been out on the hills at all this year but apparently he'll be fine as he's just done Berlin Marathon. I'm a bit worried for him now. Pendle made me cry when I did it 3 years ago. Couldn't see a thing on the day, I had recce'd it but still needed the compass to get down after the last climb.

Full Tour is just the kind of event to underestimate. Also Holme Moss *remembers self eating jelly babies standing in a bog riddled with cramp*

I'll be interested to hear how your friend gets on J. Shame to miss C v H though, isn't there someone in Wetherby you can pinch the kit from?

I remember meeting you at Pendle, you weren't the only one with tears in their eyes.

Managed to borrow kit so I'll be there tomorrow 😀 Not looking forward to the 'mud' too much. Have you decided if you're going to tackle ToP?

Yeah, I'm giving it a go. It could be ugly, but I need to challenge myself a bit.

Job done, 3:39.45. Some way off my PB at Pendle, but I'll take that - a few months ago I couldn't have considered doing a race like this. I don't run well in the mornings nowadays, it usually takes until the afternoon for the inflammation in my joints to damp down a bit, so the first few miles were quite painful (actually, excruciating) but the old chassis warmed up eventually. Bobs did well, 3:19-ish and a PB for her.
