Another day out on the real deal today. A return to Golspie (Creag Bheag). Confidence is growing.

I have a nasty rope burn on my ankle….from the dog’s long line. Lesson learned- tether the crag dog so he can’t reach me when belaying.

I’m up in Thurso for a couple of nights for work. One of the staff in a school just asked if I’d brought my climbing stuff because wed is climbing night. He’s made the offer before but I wasn’t sure he was serious. Will bring next time.

Back at the wall yesterday for the 1st time in a week, both of us climbed well. Decided to head back today for just an hour after shopping, no intention of a hard session, just a loosener.
However I did have a go at my project 6c and got one move further. Just need a little more finger strength and stability to move through the next hand hold. Also had the opportunity of a belay from one of the instructors. Initially turned it down but then spotted what looked like a fairly easy lead climb. Having not done any lead for 2 years I had a go. Really enjoyable, I’d forgotten how good it feels to climb that way. The routes are set far better than on top rope. Our walls easier grades tend to have what feels like too many choices. This was a 5+ and it was set just right.
