Cheers Chunky, and well played. Thought I'd got back into it, but you never let up

Salty Dog I've just spotted that you're on vacation on chess.com, the FE Anniversary Tournament is a no vacation tournament, so you're going to have to keep making moves if you can, I think.

Uckfield match looks like a knife-edge. One point in it with 6 games to go. Have to do our best to convert all those minor advantages into full points, and hang on in the difficult games....

The Uckfield score moved - great win from Goofee to give us a 7.5-4.5 lead with 4 games to go.

Goofee won that game! Amazing!

Just half a point needed now for a great draw or a full point for a famous victory! I think I have a chance of something in my remaining game, but it's far from secure.

Thank you! :-)

I was very surprised when he took the pawn to allow me back in, even more so when he resigned a couple of moves later!

Our other game is a bit wild, could go either way at the moment.

I’ve been watching all the games for a bit as I could see we might be close overall. I didn’t expect you to escape with much in that game after getting your B so neatly trapped! I finished off my white game quite strongly recently (ending with a N mate which was fun) but the black pieces is proving tougher. No comment on the other games still in play :-)

I decided that as the Bishop was basically useless trapped in there, I had to sacrifice it in order to relieve some of the pressure on my King - I did actually work through the entire line that happened but didn't think he'd take actually the pawn at the point he did - very pleasing!

Yeah that looked a good plan in the circumstances. I was amused by the bishop trap as I recently did the same thing twice in a row against a local club mate!

And we're over the line in the Uckfield match! :-)
