Now up to six goldfinches in the garden, Started off with two and then four, so I got another feeder so there was space for them all, now six, so will have to get them another feeder!
Also the little wren is back again. Seems to be working its way through all the plant pots looking for food.

Waxwings have been spotted in the last few days within 10 miles of our house. Time to investigate today. Although this now means they will have flown away.

First winter for a couple of years that I've not had Blackcap in the garden. Good Goldfinch group bonners.."my" Goldfinches are only visiting the feeders occasionally right now. A pair of Wood Pigeons seem to be getting it together in the garden. Dreaming of hirundines Derby!

No Waxwings. The reported numbers have been declining since they were first reported. Heading to Yorkshire this weekend so might try and check the sightings around there.

Lots of singing skylarks, a magpie making a nest and black headed gulls beginning to get black heads. Also a mystery diver, watched it for ages, smaller than a cormorant, dark, but bright white on the head and undercarriage. Been looking at guide books but can't find for definite, nearest I've seen should be on the Scottish coast, not Wales. Whatever it was, lovely looking bird.
