We also have one or two that *could* be serins as they look different to the others but they don't come on the feeders often so I am not 100%, maybe they are just last years young ones? Serin are a scarce passage migrant in the south and east of England, less than 100 per year. And maybe the odd breeding pair but not every year. Can you get a pic?
Curly, you're in Derbyshire aren't you? Derbyshire Ornithological Society has no verified Serin record in the period 2010 - 2022 and explicitly lists Serin as a species requiring a full identification description and consideration by the Rareities Sub-Committee before any record can be considered. So though possible it's extremely unlikely they are Serin, especially as you imply they are regular visitors not an off-course one off.
Not that any of that stops Merlin regularly telling me they are present during summer wanders down Limestone valleys 🤣

Female siskin, female sparrowhawk. (Hope they don't meet).
Blackcap and chiffchaff both heard singing in garden today. Ladies and gentlemen, spring has definitely arrived!

Yep totally unlikely, but just weird that two of them are different from the others. We do seem to be a bit of a finch paradise in the lane.
Birds are my mums near Bristol are massive compared to the ones we see. What are all the bristolians feeding them eh 😂😂

I think I heard my first blackcap down the canal tonight, but I always struggle telling them apart from blackbirds (I know what the difference is, but I need the 2 of them singing together to be sure!).
