Saw a magpie just scoop up a mouse, literally by its tail, today. I was utterly gobsmacked, think even moreso because it was almost cartoon-like in that I saw each little detail before it all unfolded.

Our dunnocks are on their second brood. One real delight in the last week or two has been seeing large groups of 2023 model tits on the feeders, mixed species - blue tits, great tits and coal tits all moving round and feeding together.
