HF? interesting question and your suggestions sound feasible. We had two young on the local beck, that were fully fledged and apparently unattended by their parents a couple of months ago. They were very much together still though. I wondered then how long for

Today's looking promising already with a few gannets and the little fins of some porpoises breaking the water(currently on a ferry).

Later on saw a few(!), probably a family from this year of white tailed eagles..... I personally didn't see any white tails but they were definitely eagles and flying low around cliffs, or even stood on the ground.
More gannets.
Also some grey and one common seal.
Common dolphins(longer beak than bottlenosed but didn't see the pattern). And another heron hunting the shore. Now on the isle of Coll.
Actually a wildlife watching tour, we've been snorkeling which is a first for me. Some fish and crabs, jellyfish and tiny things(zooplankton?).
Most amazing was the size of the plants, long vines and "giant rhubarb".

Plenty more gannets today and shags. Up close, they're definitely smaller than cormorants.

Common dolphins again, diving around the boat and this time I did see the yellowish pattern.
Snorkelled today in Fingal's Cave which was nice.

Still plenty of swallows and housemartins around. Numbers are ever increasing, so I'm guessing it is only a matter of days now ☹️

Swallow in October are possible. It’ll be time to look up for pinkies soon, and waxwings; err, obviously. Huge amounts of berries here. It’s going to be a good winter ;-)
