Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thank you :-) It's pretty much our favourite wildlife spot, although we've found the hides are less busy if we rock up after lunch.

Slept (very badly, I have to say) in a tent in the garden last night, something I meant to do during the heights of the dawn chorus a couple of months ago but never did. The main bird sound of note was from, I'm sure, the same jay I reported on as doing very convincing meowing a couple of weeks ago. This time, perched in the tree above my head, it did a very creditable buzzard mewing, followed by carrion crow cawing. Bit of a smartarse, that one.

Today's spot in a very brief break in the weather, was an almost completely white wagtail. So little colour that I can olny assume it was a leucistic pied wagtail. only had one darker stripe on it's tail, otherwise just white.

Screaming Swifts yesterday evening and Monday evening the mown fields were full of Swallows at lower than head high. Standing still in them was fantastic. Swallows were passing in all directions within feet of me. Over 200 were counted out of the roost at the Res on Tuesday morning.
