Dad sent me a video of a jay in his garden today. I am making do with the calls of the curlew.

Still no martins or blackcaps, but first willow warbler of 2020 bagged this afternoon :-)

First housemartins on our estate. They look like the locals as they were busy feeding on the wing.

Anecdotally, anybody else noticed more insects around? Lots of different types of hover flies, bees and other types of bugs.

re insects, definitely bonners. I had exactly the same thoughts when out yesterday evening.
