We were up your way around Tod on the canal. Two or three dippers and a yaffling green woody were best we managed

Not been much around, not even seen many dippers or a greenie (though do keep hearing them). K saw a pair of stonechat along the canal the other day.

DT, we need to do some trading. I'd happily swap 2 or 3 of my local chiffchaffs for one of your dippers. Deal?

I went on a Chiffchaff hunt in the patch of wood below the house and found at least three possibly four within a few hundred metres of the house. All singing and very active. I saw a count of 12 for the Res yesterday (there were just 1 or 2 over wintering ones around) so it looks like we've had a good number of arrivals in the last few days :-) Also found a bonus Goldcrest.

Chiffchaffs singing on my run today, and I even got a good view of one in a hedge. GSW loudly drumming.

I'm off out shortly to look again. Just below where the turkeys live is my best chance ;-)

And nearly trod on a snipe on today’s walk!
