Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The Peak District seems to have had a big influx of Ravens in the last 4 or 5 days. There was a report of 46 overhead here on Friday and since then they are everywhere. My biggest single count so far was 9 playing in the wind above Castleton yesterday lunchtime but I'm seeing far more than usual everywhere I go (and over the last two days that has involved going up and down between Ashbourne and Castleton/Hope working on the Limestone Way Ultra, so quite a large area). Unfortunately that meant I wasn't at home this afternoon when a juvenile Artic Skua rocked up literally across the road. Hoping it might still be around tomorrow (the Salvonian Grebe is still hanging around after 4 days). There is also a juvenile Black Tern that has popped up several times in the last few days and lots of Redwing are starting to appear but no reports of Fieldfare yet DT.

Kestrel flying around following my run this morning. And about 100 Canada geese in the small lake, with more landing as I ran past it.

I've seen a few swift flying about the last couple of days, must be a re-fuelling point on their long flight south. (Canaries)

I think I heard crossbills at Kielder marathon today. May have got a distant view of a big flock of them over the conifers later on, but not sure.
