Lesser Whitethroat is a regular in my locality J2R..even have the occasional singing bird in my garden. It's geographically quite good for them here in south east Wales not in big numbers but dotted around the place. Just a Whitethroat and Cetti's early today. Great spot Fragile to see a Tree Creeper at its nest.

Lovely day for parkrun, made better by the Skylarks singing for 2km of it.

Reed buntings yesterday, and brief was-it-or-wasn't-it cuckoo (probably was, from speaking to others later who were in the area).
We get a lot of starlings here (they nest in neighbours' eaves), and I've been fascinated to watch them do a kind of aerobatic display where they appear to be trying to catch insects in flight. In silhouette, doing this, they're startlingly reminiscent of bee-eaters. Has anyone else spotted this?

Alpenrose, lucky you I saw my first grass snake here last summer, swimming next to where we ran on Lodmoor

Corrah
Just seen a sparrowhawk having just caught something being bombarded by crows. Ended up letting its quarry go as the crows would not leave it alone. Stunned to see this round the corner from my house.

Wheater everywhere as I bimbled my way across the Lakeland tops on Saturday. Plenty of Mipits and singing Skylarks too but only spotted the one Golden Plover.

Still not found wheater yet this year. Amazed not to find them during Fellsman or this weekend up above Staveley.
Did manage my first ever pied flycatchers today though
