I don’t think you’re missing that much Velo. They did a 7 course tasting menu which the staff struggled to explain at times. The food was ok, when you are not choosing I suppose there’s always going to be some bits that aren’t to your taste. But the ambience was just a a bit odd - it probably didn’t help that at 47/49 we were the youngest in there by at least 20 years!
Anyway, a few beers and some hearty food in the Fellpack in Keswick last night was much more to my taste. Watching the snow bucket down was lovely.
Bagged a few tops, saw a few dippers, and formed some plans for the future. On the M6 on the way home now though 🙁. Back soon, hopefully.

Plans for the future? Are we going to be neighbours soon, WW?
The Fellpack is more my sort of place too.

One can dream! It’s a few years away if it were to happen as I’ve got a 13 year old that prob needs looking after for at least a couple more years. That said, he is currently away on a school trip in 🇮🇸 so he can clearly look after himself!

That’s a great shot WW. It must have been a stunning day all over Lakeland today
I hiked from Staveley up to Kentmere ( hamlet not the Pike) and back on the other side of the valley. Just wonderful

We were trudging through snow in places but some of the tracks had been blown clear and the drifted snow was out of the way. Most considerate.

That’s a lovely picture of the path to Kentmere. Yesterday morning, from the summit of Hampsfell on the southern edge of Lakeland, the western flank of the Kentmere Horseshoe was spectacular. On the eastern flank, Ill Bell presented its usual eye-catching profile but didnt have the same glittering white blanket.

Oops, I mixed up east and west. It was the western slope of the eastern flank that was glittering white.

Nice peaceful run from Bowness Knot to Black Sail this morning. Knee deep snow near Black Sail but I was following someone’s fresh trail.
