I was on the same lines as NE and was just about to comment that the Pheasant looked busy as I passed it on my way up to Sale & Ling this afternoon! Wonder if the Bass Station restaurant will affect it much when they eventually open?

Good thing about the Crosthwaite Rd Pheasant at the moment is that you have to book a table in the bar area - so at least you know you can get in with a dog.

On the many times I've been there in the past, I've probably had to leave disappointed more often than I've managed to get a table - it normally fills up very quickly

Reading the latest lockdown from the Government site:

"to spend time or exercise outdoors - this should be done locally wherever possible, but you can travel to do so if necessary (for example, to access an open space)"

Is travelling a few hundred miles within the guidance?

I very much enjoy looking at Tony Richards' lakelandcam photos every day, FR, maybe you could pick a different bit of the Lakes to work in? :-)

FR the new lockdown guidance says "you can and should still travel to... spend time or exercise outdoors. This should be done locally wherever possible, but you can travel to do so if necessary". There is also absolutely nothing in the actual legislation that says anything about the distance you can travel it just lists exercise as an acceptable reason to leave home. So if your exercise is to run up a Lakeland fell then it's necessary that you travel to the Lakes no matter how far that is 😉 just don't stay away overnight! (and from reading the subsequent blogs it would seem that is pretty much the logic used by a BG record breaker during the previous restrictions).
