Didn't realise they'd changed LSU. I always fancied it but was put off by Pinnacle. If it's gone I might give it a go in the next couple of years.

Made a point of avoiding Keswick this weekend, it's been worth the effort 🙂 Decided to bag the Eastern fells I missed on Friday, so did Heughscar Hill, Arthur's Pike, Bonscale, Swarth, Loadpot and Wether before coming back to Pooley Bridge via the L100 route. Very hot and sticky, am cooling off with a cold cider at Lowther Castle.

Warm mugginess isn’t usually a feature on the DD, Rosehip. Any hill training will help, I think/hope - most of mine takes place on a not very steep 250 metre tarmac path section. Might be why I do a lot of walking on the Lakeland Trails; anything in the Lakes should be better!

beebop is underselling her skills on loose rocky downhill sections considerably there.

I’m faster downhill than up, certainly.

You should try a fell race or two. It's Ingleborough this coming Saturday, that race favours strong descenders 🙂

I’m doing a 10 miler in Saltaire then, NE. Fell races - it might be my imagination, but aren’t they populated by fast, hard as nails, whippet thin athletic types? I think I’d need to watch some before I thought about attempting one. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
