Did anyone here watch Scrubs? Do you remember the janitor having his 'toilet epiphany'? This thread reminds me of that, love it! Fleecy, this is how I do a duvet too 😄 |

If you are in patchy signal, and your phone says it's got signal but the page won't load, or you haven't got signal but have had there before, put phone in aeroplane mode briefly and back again, often this solves the problem.

Referring back to my GPS from page 2, I ran the same route again today, but with GLONASS turned off - and the trace was much better. Could be just a fluke, but it seemed to do well.

For appliances like dishwashers and washing machines, if something goes wrong they usually show an error code that tells you what's wrong. In most cases you can look up a YouTube video of how to fix the problem, you can then order the right parts to do the job. Even if you don't want to fix the machine yourself, you should have a good idea of the cost of parts and know if the repair service are charging a reasonable price. I have fitted a dishwasher pump sump sealing kit and a water heater on a different machine and fixed the washing machine motor for a fraction of the cost of a new machine or calling for a repair. |

Sigh
I've found a good way to deal with automated cold calls to our landline. If I don't recognise the number calling me, I answer the call but don't say anything. If it's a real person at the other end, faced with silence at my end they will speak. However, the automated systems only seem to start once they hear someone speak to them. We've had two today and saying nothing has led to no response at their end, so we just hang up after about 5-10 seconds. Far less stressful. |

Yes, sigh, I follow a similar approach. I've been putting callers' tel. nos into google. This site, who-called.co.uk offers a reverse phone number lookup tool. Recent unsolicited calls I've put in have been classified as 'nuisance', 'dangerous' etc. There's a reporting message board, and tips for dealing with cold calls. |
