Lol, yes, Lyns we were telling that story.
What a beautiful parkrun, great company and good to meet new faces. Would love to come back in the summer, although Dvorak tells us it's hard to predict when summer will be in Scotland.

That was great :-). Met Mr and Mrs Jigs and got to run with the Fetches, who are just as lovely as you would expect them to be (thanks for putting up with me *rabbit*ing awa). And saw a few of the Edinburgh suspects as well, though missed JammyLu in a storming 4th F place.
Although a bit cold and damp, at least that keeps others off the prom ;-). The rain got much worse after. And it was interesting to run with someone seeing it fresh - although I try not to, sometimes I do lapse into taking the wonderful places we have run a bit for granted. And our opportunities to run up hills.

katieB - the weather today is about as good as it gets - mainly because there was no wind and the rain was nice and cooling without being heavy and icy cold.

Hey folks.
I can't find a thread for porty parkrun is there one? I was wondering what it's like for parking and what it's like generally compared to cramond?
I like cramond as it's easy to park (i use marine drive) and if i have my 2yr old with me it's a good course for our fixed-wheel chariot buggy, but it's not good if it's windy. also i'm running at around 30-35mins depending on whether i have the buggy and this is not last at edinburgh which is good. any thoughts on porty?

If you are there in good time you will get parked no problem on Baileyfield Road. There are a couple of buggy runners that do the run regularly - I believe it's a little more difficult for buggy runners on the way out on the loop than on the way back because of a very slight contour on the course. It's a three lap course in a park so more protected from the elements than Cramond. A little congestion at the beginning, but folk on the whole position themselves according to whether they're a racing snake or not and it doesn't cause much bother. There are generally 150 - 180 runners so its quieter. Doing 30 - 35 minutes you won't be last at Porty either - when I've been tail runner I've generally been around 42 - 45 minutes apart from the one week where I was 61 minutes!
