In good old miles I had it as 3.09 on my Garmin most times...on Saturday it was 3.15 on the new course. To be honest, the fact the distance is added at the start is better (for me)...prefer that to it being stuck on at the end! Still one of the best 5k series anywhere, esp for free. And, for those folk who are going to spend 20 quid doing the Gt Winter Run...wonder how that measures? ;-)

Lol at Scotty with it being better added to the start than finish. While I know what you mean, when you think about it, it sounds ridiculous.

Couldn't agree more re the great winter run. Why pay to run around a hill that can be run any day of the week fir free.

Of course it`s ridiculous Bazoaxe ;-) Whenever I tell my people my theory they`re like "He`s flipped!" ;-) For me, the first hundred metres or so are spent trying to find some space and getting into the desired pace so I think what I mean is that I didn`t feel the new start-line position that much. If I was a front-runner then that may change....

Thats a fair point, the first 100m is about jostling for position...and in my case going out too fast....

I have Identified a suitable saturday towards the end of Jan when I will come down and set a new PB...hopefully one thats faster than the one from the shortr(er) course...

My garmin measured 3.07m so maybe slightly short and many races are. The measuring line is 1m from the left hand side but most of us go straight through the corners. No way was it 80m short .
