Stick with it folks, you'll get a lot of energy back once you hit your taper. Get to the start well rested and all the training you've done will shine through on the day.

Join the group and i'll keep you informed. I haven't made any plans as yet, it usually involves an Italian. Possibly Zizzi's ?

I`ve got a marathon place up for official transfer (although deadline to transfer is the 31st of this month). Just back from hospital and I`ve got an injured leg which may take a while to settle

Looking forward to this, doing the half as doing full mara in Paris this weekend, looking forward to some decent half-mara training as I've never trained properly for one in the past so hoping for a big PB.

4th January I collapsed and woke up in hospital 8 days later recovering from meningitis. Couldn't walk for a while, constant pain and memory loss, only went back to work 3 weeks ago. Two weeks before it happened I found out my Granda had Cancer. I told him I'd run for him and raise money for the hospice who would be looking after him. He took a turn for the worst while I was out of it. He died Jan 31st, I was still determined that I'd be running in Edinburgh, but as my gran said, I'd only end up killing myself in the process. So I'll be looking into another race to run in his memory at some point when the times right, I had my first run back on Sunday. 1.75miles through the woods on the Clyde Walkway. It was so hard but something kept me going.
Good luck everyone, and when it gets tough remember how lucky you all are to be running at all.

Wow. What a story Zokas. What a horrid time you've had recently. I hope you fully recover soon and find a race to run in your grandads memory.
