Top post. Thank you.
That's the great thing about the Providence Bruins - there is just no ambiguity on the affiliation.
[for those that don't know, the Providence branding is identical to the Boston one except with a P instead of a B]

There's a thing in The Globe this morning (and I quote) "NHL closing on return-to-play plan". Sounds like they are stalking it like a wild animal.

I thought Grep would have beaten me to mentioning the Mahomes deal. Didn't even know a 10 year extension was a possible! Guess the devil is in the detail which I haven't seen yet but that's a huge locked up for career deal.
Wonder if it looks 'cheap' halfway through...

Mahomes' deal reminds me of the part of the Jordan bio Last Dance, where they talk about Scotty Pippen signing some megabucks multi-year deal, only for him to regret it a few years later when others were getting mega mega mega bucks. One year he was top 2 or 3 in a while host of basketball stats while 'only' being the 123rd best paid player.

It's going to be hard to regret a $450-503m deal but it's possible that two 5 year deals would pay more in the long run.
These days, it probably gets renegotiated if the value drops too much anyway.

Sorry SPR - I saw the ‘half a billion dollars’ headline and my brain burst.

Those of us with long memories and an association with Beantown remember how quickly it can all go wrong for a quarterback.

Bledsoe had signed a ten-year deal in the March. *that* tackle was the second game of the following season.
