But I guess that's supply and demand for you. Be nicer if they removed the limit on numbers, made it half the price, removed the obligation to have to have 'motorised support crew' of at least two (don't get me wrong, my support were just brilliant - but it does mean that some folks have problems doing the race, and let's be honest there's a train running between FW and Tyndrum which has to help).
I'm sure it'll still be full by the end of the month. Better put some ink in the printer then...
I wonder why they don't let you use drop bags like the Fling. I mean if all our support crews can drive to all the different places then surely they could do it in a van with everyone's drop bags? I'm wondering about applying late and getting on the reserve list then they won't cash my cheque until much nearer the time... But then it would just be my luck that the year I do that all the reserve list don't get it! It's a lot of money to lose if you can't do it due to injury or any other reason for that matter
What are other folk doing about the back-up requirements? You must have a back-up vehicle (car, 4x4 if you have one (not required though!!)... Who fancies a fantastic day out in the beautiful North West of Scotland on the legendary West Highland Way, supporting the lovely Sophster? Team of 2 would be best: a driver/sandwich maker and a runner/Muller rice opener. Eternal gratitude, fetchie fame and gold and jewels will be yours. (*)
