The checkpoints in the D33 are simply awesome
I did my party piece the other night and had a heavy fall running in the dark. Leg and arm are recovering fine but ribs are as sore as billy-o., even just normal breathing. Ach well, I wasn't going to win anyway.
Is everyone tapering this weekend or carrying on as normal?

I am tapering. I should go to running club tonight but the weather is foul and as I have been out in it all day I can't face going out again. I'll parkrun on Saturday, run 10 miles on Sunday, club on Tuesday then rest.

Hello M1nty, to be honest, I'm too old to worry about tapering & pace & all that sort of stuff.
I'm just racking up the miles & if I have a low point in the D33, I'll walk for a bit & then hopefully my mood will lift & I'll start running again.
I only ran it for the first time last year, but you are quite right. The volunteers who man the checkpoints are brilliant, so encouraging.
I hope your injuries from your fall clear up quickly.
Like you, I'm never going to trouble the person on the finish line with the stopwatch. Still, to me, it's the taking part & having a nice day out, if that makes sense?
