Well if Surrey could prepare a shocker and get a 25 point deduction there’d be no tears shed in the Green King IPA stand that’s for damn sure.

Highly unlikely considering that The Oval is one of the best wickets out there.

Somerset finally dismissed with Surrey needing 221 to win the battle of second v. first. This match has been a tale of collapses (Somerset tail and Surrey middle order) in the first innings and Somerset's top order in the second, along with some remarkable resilience along the way.

If we can handle the spinners and don't do anything silly by trying to push it too early, we might get there.

You'd hope Gloucestershire do us a solid and knock off the 130-odd they need to beat Middlesex too.

With Sussex still to play Middlesex in the final round of matches, if the weather plays ball, promotion is looking on.

63-3 with tea taken early after 41.1 overs. More slow scoring but I reckon we're just going to hold out for a draw. At least that will keep us 24 points ahead. Anything but a loss will do.

Rain affects everyone in some way. It hasn't been our best performance of the season yet we're playing without Pope, Smith, Atkinson, Jacks, Sam Curran and Jordan.

Both Somerset and Surrey will surely field much different sides for Saturday's T20 SF. Burns, Sibley, Foakes, Tom Curran and Worrall will probably be the only ones playing today and again at the weekend.
