Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I don't think playing overly defensively is the way to go. Keep an aggressive mentality but don't play reckless/ premeditated shots.

This game from 2022 has England beating India from a similar situation.

Yes with this team it’s a small chance but still a chance. 5/1 sounds about right, they’ve pulled off a lot of startling results in recent years.

Thinking back to my childhood, you’d expect it to be all over by lunch or thereabouts. It still might be of course.

Would definitely be a bigger result to achieve in India.

As clearly outstanding as that Birmingham result was, there's a difference between trying to score nearly 400 on an Edgbaston pitch that's likely to have become flatter over the test and in India on a pitch that's going to break up tomorrow and is providing spin and bounce.

I predict all over by mid-afternoon. India to win by 150runs.

Athers 185* over nearly 11 hours was the one that sprang to mind. But still not two whole days.

Thing is that if they'd just bat normally at ~3 rpo and didn't try to score from every ball, you'd get to 400 in 4 sessions.

You can bat positively without trying to smash every ball to the boundary.
