Vaughn on the BBC
"It all comes down to today - it will define this Ashes series. If England get the win then Ben Stokes will continue to go ultra aggressive. If England lose they face so many questions about the declaration, their batting approach at times.
If Australia lose then Pat Cummins is under the spotlight and there's questions about spreading the field. There will be fingers pointed to whoever loses. I think whoever wins this Test will win the Ashes"
I agree with the last sentence but not the rest. All a bit OTT imho

Why do you agree with the last sentence? It seems it fits with taking the result too seriously.
His comments later about looking at errors even if they win were more level headed.
It's basically why Bazball is questioned. Process Vs results.
It's interesting that England's strategy to get wickets is essentially to get Australia to attack so they themselves know attacking is likely to generate more chances for the opposition and they certainly don't think Australia will score more that way.

I think there was a lot of over analysis but suspect who wins this match assuming it's not Michael Fish, will have a huge boost

Fair enough, I can see it having a positive effect. It's the negative effect that I don't see. No reason for either team to think all is lost based on the result but winning can boost confidence.
Extremely fine drizzle currently.

Agree. Taking an early lead is great and gives either side the initiative but this is a finely balanced test so, to me, indicates a similarly balanced series.
