Indeed so. And replacing another - Mr David Acfield.
David Acfield was a teacher at Rainsford School and taught my Wife, can’t remember what subject it was though. Might have been ‘Being right at everything’?

The announcer at Chelmsford has started saying 'incoming batter'. Not a hill I'm prepared to die on but I don't like it.

I would be tempted to take some Yorkshire pudding mix and throw it at him.

Without thinking, I still say batsman and not batter. Saying that, I was watching a women's football match and the commentators were discussing the 'man of the match.' We're all confused!

I'm very happy with batter - if it makes just a few people feel more welcome and accepted in the game then it's a small change to make

yep - agree with you there

However the use of “change up” instead of slower ball can get in the sea

Brown Caps got over the line quite comfortably in the end.

'Change up' is baseball for slower ball. I've got no problem with it.
