Day off mid week to visit Newquay. We won the first two matches quite easily, went to Lanyhdrock on the Thursday, beautiful setting. Bowled them out for not a lot, but then had to face a spinner who played for Cornwall in Minor Counties. Early start in the bar. Lots of laughs and lots of beer. Happy Days.

Stopped at Trago Mills on the way to buy bodyboards. I remember a couple of blokes buying wetsuits as well, they got loads of stick. It was 10 or 12 years later when we started holidaying on the North coast that I realised that wetsuits are a good idea.

Favourite ground played at down there was Malborough (near salcombe), but some lovely village grounds on Dartmoor. Pukekura park is the nicest I have watched at, but Dharamsala would take the title if I ever go there.
