They might really want Burns and Sibley to do well. They might REALLY REALLY want Burns and Sibley to do well. They might even be prepared, as now, to win the toss and bowl to try and protect Burns and Sibley from a first morning wicket.

But cranky techniques at test level will remain crank techniques.....
