De Villiers, who retired from international cricket in 2018, described the format as a "game changer".

Well turning a 2 team match into 3 teams definitely changes the game

"After the seventh wicket, the last batter stands alone" sounds like something from playing cricket in the street when I was a kid.

Have they replaced DRS with 3 bat handles as well?

bloody hated coconut matting, it was either like a pudding or a trampoline, I played against an Amsterdam West indian side and it was whizzing past my chin off slightly short of a length*

*It may have been whizzing past my belly, I'm a coward when I'm not batting with a helmet

Apologies - I was listening to TMS and the topic was coconut matting. Spoke of the ball whistling about everywhere.

At least it's actually something different unlike the hundred which was just a bit of tinkering vs T20.

It's an interesting concept and tactics might come into play. If one of the sides that you're facing has weaker bowling but are going to bowl to you in the second 6, do you try and keep some big hitters back to take advantage?

Let's take away the stumps and just have a man standing behind to catch it.

Let's have the batsmen discard pads and make the bat round

Let's have the batsmen running a square

Let's allow the bowler to throw the ball and instead of running in, he can stand on a mound.

And it won be cricket any more.
