TR, they were mentioning the trial of the 3rd umpire (or more accurately, hawkeye) calling the no ball during a rain break in one of the recent games. I think they said if the trial went well (apparently the technology has been being trialled for years and recently has proven to be 100% accurate - their words) that it would be introduced into the mens game within the year. About time.

Back to this two bounce no ball thing. Are there any plans to retrospectively over turn wickets taken with two bounce balls from the past. Maybe from a Nuthall CC single wicket competition from the late 1980's? Specifically the filthy delivery bowled by the second team wicket keeper that evaded all of my swishes and dislodged the off bail when I tried to chase down his massive total of 5 with one hit. #notbitter |

I was once 'caught behind' off a two bouncer... it was given not out but I knew I hit it. I was on 50 odd and so disgusted that I failed to walk. I didn't get many more so it was ok, sort of. I was a walker too, for the most part. I'd have to say it wasn't 100% though... such as the time aged about 16 that I was caught gloving down the leg side... I was given that time though. Karma evens things out. We had a chap legitimately caught, with my hands above my boot laces. It was given not out ostensibly because I didn't celebrate! But also because he was their best player. Went on to make 80 odd and win them the game... |
