The uni I work for is offering face to face sessions for all courses - about three hours a week on campus.

um is correct - the army is going to be responsible for the logistics of the rapid testing.

FM briefing. It sounds like Scotland may impose harsher measures in order to make use of the furlough scheme that is currently only available during the English lockdown. I'm fucking furious right now but just really frustrated as I have a break booked (still within Highland so tier 1-tier 1 travel) which I desperately need. It allows me to see my son who I have seen once since he went to college at beginning of September.

What makes us think Scotland is considering full lockdown? (I'm "working" so not following the news in full).

FM briefing. She is basically saying that if the furlough is only going to be available for the next month then it might tip the balance in terms of decision making. Better to lock down now when the financial support will be available rather than wait and see how the tier system works and potentially have to lock down later but with no financial support.

BTW, At the moment, our family's judgement is we are not allowed to travel from Fife Tier 2 to Western Isles Tier 1 or reverse to visit each other. Def not allowed to/from Tier 3 but even Tier 2 I think is not supposed to travel?

If FM does announce changes hopefully it will be for those areas in Scotland with high numbers, was looking forward to a meal out with wine on Friday.

HappyG it says on Scottish Government website to minimise travel between different areas and not to travel between tier 3 and 4 to another area unless necessary for work etc. So technically you could travel as it’s not forbidden just not advised.

Many thanks J. I guess we're just being cautious / good citizens. Thanks.

Although I've not always liked what the Scottish Govt has done, I have had respect for their decisions.

But I would be spitting feathers if they locked down the whole of Scotland and its economy to get furlough money
