In general ( not always ) you will be in a cafe for less time than a restaurant, so seen to be safer ??

Less likely to be having wine with your skinny frappuchino latte mocha in a cafe than in a restaurant. Alcohol leads to less social distancing. Not really much more thought than that in the policy I'd think. |

all hospitality in central Scotland shut......the problem started in Glasgow where half hearted restrictions were applied but now its spreading

.....wait 'Cafes which do not have an alcohol licence will be able to stay open until 18:00.' So cafes can open but restaurants cant. What about if restaurants opened but not allowed to sell alcohol. |

A bit of a blanket statement to suggest everyone going for a drink or a meal will be less SD. We are going for a drink tonight while walking the dog we won’t get close to anyone. Same sweeping generalisation hitting those doing it right while others continue being dicks.
