Having Harry AA as one of the gladiators is hilarious; he was always somewhat remarkably built for a sprinter, but always did seem like a nice guy. And Montell Douglas; bet she never thought when she held the 100m record that this might be next in her career!!
Arena felt a little sparse and the gladiators were a little game-rusty or poorly prepared I think. But it was fine and two of my boys enjoyed it, in a sort of ironic post-modern way!

Anyone remember Battledome? An American series which had contenders against resident musclemen. There was also an in-house rivalry taking place so it came across as a Gladiators meets WWE.

Just caught up with Saturday's show.
A few of the new games seemed like a variation of the older ones; i.e. suspension bridge is now collision (swinging gladiators rather than balls being thrown), and ring looked a bit like powerball (without the buckets and balls).
Viper as the new Wolf? Maybe. Let's see if he starts to get in the faces of everyone like Wolf used to. The male galdiators are as huge as they always were. Fury looks awesome although Dynamite would suit less wrestle-type games like hang tough as well as the wall or skytrack - if they still have those events planned. You never saw Lightning do those sort of games.

Someone said that Legend came across as a very natural Heel character. He has a YouTube "fitness channel" under the name "Matt Does Fitness" where the main muscle he exercises is his ego so I think they're typecasting a bit there.

I was going to say that Nellers, seen a few of his videos, but not so much recently, obviously training
We saw Hunter in a TGI Fridays back in the day, joined my mate at the urinal, who said, "you're my favourite Gladiator" and then looked back at his shoes

Never stand next to your idols at a urinal. I can personally confirm the ensuing awkwardness from small talk 😶.

Last night, I actually found the first ever Gladiators show on YouTube.
There were two gladiators I had never heard of (Hawk and Flame) but a few old favourites as well. Lots of big hair! The assault course at the end seemed a bit short. In duel, one female contender was allowed to block everything without offering one attacking shot. I think this was changed over the years so that they could be DQ'd for not trying.

I think Hawk and Flame came a cropper at some live shows when the crowd were asked to vote for their favourite gladiator - and got binned.
