Is that how Santa delivers presents; you buy a pregnant tree and out the little presents pop?

A bit of a different xmas for me this year. My eldest son (late 30's) was by himself last year and hated every minute so he's coming to stay. His brother (also late 30's) is also coming to stay (just been to Tesco to get the beers in! ;) ). On xmas day, Mrs WM is heading to Warwick to be with her son and family - meanwhile, I'm cooking xmas dinner for me and my lads (first time for everything). Mrs Wm will stay overnight and re-appear on Boxing Day.

Our (real) xmas tree is out in the garage at the moment. I checked with Mrs WM and she wants it brought in and decorated on xmas eve (suits me - I just needed to know!).

Sounds good WM

I put our tree up last night. Let it be said here that this is the last year I am battling with the lights we have on it right now. (I’m down to one spare bulb anyway and they tend to blow 2-3 every year so I suspect the decision may be made for me)

Christmas Day will be me and Nic, hopefully going for a bike ride with friends in the morning. Then home to start food prep. Nic’s mum and OH will come round in the afternoon. We might have a couple of presents from her but that’s all. Food, some sort of animal / vet / dogs Home special on TV. Probably play about with Snapchat filters (at a guess). Then they’ll head off and we’ll head to bed.

Boxing Day over to my brother’s to meet my family for the day. Another Christmas dinner and definitely presents there (but hopefully not many..). Then home for peace.

Cath - Mrs WM has promised to give me copious instructions re cooking the turkey .. although it's likely to be a turkey crown as it's just the three of us on xmas day. Mind you, knowing my two lads, they'd probably be just as happy with pizza & beer.

Re xmas tv, I've already been through the Radio Times marking what we're interested in seeing. We hardly ever watch anything 'live'. On a Friday I set up the recorder for the week ahead and viewing for us is mostly "what's on the hard drive" rather than what's on tv.

BTW, I'm not sure I'll have room to record this week's 90 minute Channel 5 extravaganza, "Britain's Favourite Biscuit" ;)
