JK *chameleon*
He's a lovely looking lad. So glad to see him settle in.

He'll be bossing you about before long :)

Gizmo is loving his new position as Alpha Cat.
He's on mom's bed all the time, ventured into the kitchen (NEVER does that, neither of them did), and he hissed at my brother! (Wish I had seen that)

Is that usual? I'm presuming it can be if one has been the 'shyer' cat.

Little Nemo
That's what I found with Nemo when Spike died. He learnt how to miaow and became a lot more affectionate. Spike had always been top cat before so Nemo had just gone along with it. I think he became more him when he was the sole cat.

Whenever one of my cats has had time away (usually staying with the vet) the other cat has relished being the only one. So much for thinking they would be good company for each other.

Vixx, yes, I had that with Fred and Barney. Fred was the dominant cat, and Barney really came out of his shell after Fred died (2004) - he'd been quite neurotic up to then. They were rescue cats and the centre insisted they be kept together (brothers from separate litters), but I actually think they'd have been happier separate.

We had them because they were twins, and whilst they did spend a lot of time with each other, we thought that Gizmo had taken on my 'qualities' - Stubborn, moody, anti-social, and Spike had mom's qualities - sociable, liked to talk to people, interesting.

Now, whilst he still looks to be stubborn and moody, he's not so anti-social. And now he's after my chicken (he's only ever eaten cat food before)....

Napoleon is baffled that despite telling 5 people and a dog about the lack of Dreamies this morning, there are still no Dreamies in the house.
