Pedro, so sorry to hear of your double bereavement.

Rae, good luck with rehoming, good that the kitten is responding to treatment. Poor mite.

Such sad news! So sorry to read this.

I did like your Vitamix link Rae but it got lost in more somber posts.

I probably didn't pick the best time to post it, tbf.

In other more cheerful news, Sam and I will be going to meet a pair of little fully black kittens, called Miso and Nori, on Sunday.
They've never met a dog before, so we're going to take Laika with us.

Same deal as before, if it goes well the kittens will get rabies shots and we'll bring them home the weekend after.

We've come home from a few days away to find blood smears around the house and Napoleon with a puffy face and not really eating. On closer inspection (risking our sanity/lives) he has a tiny scratch on his nose and a possible abscess in his lower jaw. I rather suspect a scrap with another local tom, we'll be off to the vet tomorrow then.

Oh no. Hope he heals soon.

We were out for a walk on new year's eve and saw a local friendly cat who usually stops us for a fuss (so friendly the kids call her Megabunt) with clear evidence of having been in a scrap. Quite a nasty scratch behing her ear. We went to her house but the owner didn't answer the door. After a bit of pestering and some evil looks from a few posh home owners who clearly thought a shabby middle aged woman and her two kids were the local cat thieves, we managed to find a neighbour who could ring the owner. Not seen the cat out since and she looks well loved, so I'm hoping she's cleaned up and kept in to heal.

Hope those injured cats recover well.

No box tonight but why have a box when an armchair is free.
