Popped into the office today. Found a photo of a cat in a box from years ago. Not my cat or photo, but one that someone left stuck to their desk ‘breadbin’ when they cleared their desk many years ago. I'd spotted it and nabbed it before the cleaners got hold of it.

Lucky and I are buddies- she understands me and I can interpret her actions or vocal calls.
As a treat- i bought her a scratch board with a groove inside which contained a small ball and catnip.
She wasn't interested in the scratch part- but spent ages at the board playing with the ball in the groove. i left her to it......
The next thing I knew was the ball was now on the kitchen floor and a bell was ringing as she pawed it around the kitchen. On checking- I'm unsure how she got it out of the slot; but she'd eaten all the catnip!! I panicked- and had to google if it was ok for cats to eat catnip. phew.......it is.
It was great fun at first for her and me - as I enjoyed watching her play. BUT after 45mins of bell ringing- it started to get on my nerves.
Fortunately Lucky has "prize possessions" that she hides- like her toy mouse( which incidently appears on my pillow every night). She thankfully hid the ball and the ringing stopped. i've looked for the ball and yesterday it was under the bookcase- she played again then hid it. Tonight I can't find it(I will check my pillow later!)
I'm so glad she is a house cat- as otherwise I am sure I would be getting live/dead animal presents.
She is a joy to have and I have to remember that in times of distress.
