bit of a shocker here yesterday....

Patricia hasn't been near a vet since we got her (shame on us, but if it aint broke don't fix it, and she is 100% indoors)

anyhoo, she has a wee urine infection and i called her registered vet to see if they would give me a phone consult and an antibiotic.

They said they'd need to see her as she's not been in for a while, and so i am taking her in on Wednesday.

She was a rescue from Cats Protection, and they were the ones who registered her there.
I asked the vet out of interest if they had a DOB for her, and they said 18/02/2004!!!

She's almost 18!!!!!

No wonder she is a bit scrawny and a bit doolally!

๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿ˜ป wee Pat. Grand that she has loved so long in great health and I hope she still has a few more years in her.

At the moment we've had to confine her to the en suite with her box, and igloo bed.... caught her twice (that we know of) lifting her skirts to pee . not even on the sly, right in front of our faces, and with no shame...!

and as it's a new place, we do not need cat pee issues!

Taking her out there when we are home and following her around, and giving her sofa love while she sits on a towel on our knee.

Hope the antibiotic sorts her out, but now i know she's 18, i am fearful we could be nearing the end of her tenure....

shame as she's been so happy since becoming no1 pet!

Good luck for Pat's vet appointment. Amazing that she has been so healthy for so long. Sounds like you need lots of Pat cuddles today.

Nothing to feel guilty about, Maz. No point in taking her if she was fine. I can't remember the last time I saw a dr. Prob a gyno appointment 4 yeara ago.

When we looked after our neighbourโ€™s cat once, and he started weeing indoors and getting all wobbly. We were really worried he was going to die in us but it turned out it was a urine infection and a couple of days of antibs he was back to his usual self for several more years. Hopefully Patricia willbe the same.
