I think that maybe she wasn't socialised properly by whoever had her first. Even after being here for over 5 years she hasn't really mellowed.

She’s very affectionate and purry, and on occasions turns somewhat bitey, and it’s not a nibble! She really idolises my husband and strangely she only turns on him not me. If she really meant it she’d draw blood, and she’s not done that. She’s 11, and a happy and healthy cat. He just retreats contact until she’s calmed down, which is usually less than a minute.
