I stayed in Costa Teguise a few years ago and quite enjoyed it as my first experience of the Canaries. There were running/walking routes advertised on boards dotted around the resort which I found useful. Anything up to about 8 miles I think. Fuertaventura was the other is island 've been too. Trying to remember the resort, but I did a couple of good off road runs along the coast with views of volcanoes |

We went to Puerto Calero a year ago - enjoyed it more than we thought we would, ate at some decent places too (and we are definitely picky). Loved the trot along the coast each morning....

I stayed at the Hotel Costa Calero, in Puerto Calero, after I ran the Lanzarote Half. There is a thalassotherapy centre there, which was very agreeable, and open to non-residents for €25 a visit. Especially good if you get a bit of indifferent weather. hotelcostacalero.com I hired a bike from the bike shop on the square at the front in Matagorda (the bit of PdC by the airport) and cycled to nearly Costa Teguise and back. This misses out PdC if you want. Chunky urban type bike, but others available and more hire places in town. (This was another trip but still a few years ago, so things might have changed. The walk from PC to PdC along the coast is pretty good (and has a good bit of ups and downs) - goes by some pretty interesting, and I presume expensive, houses. |

Thanks for suggestions / comments. V'rap was correct - very windy. Dvork - our villa was one road over from the Costa Calero, we walked past it each night on the way to & from dinner in the marina. Very glad to have chosen Calero over Playa Blanca or Puerto del Carmen, we like small & quiet. Treasure hunt pics and small blog, and link to photos at fetcheveryone.com/blog-view.php?id=43889 And for Dvorak ... |
