I saw Cheryl Baker and Floella Benjamin.
Pics are up now on marathon photos.
Crap time for me but I had a great day as always. Fluked missing the rain too, got on a shuttle bus just as it started and by the time we were back at Monument it had stopped again
See you all on the 18th next year

Great weekend away. B&B in Roker turned out to be great value for money. Found a lovely restaurant on the sea front Sunday night.
BUT......2hrs 19mins starting in group H I spent most of my time fighting my way past walkers. I've always seen myself as just a fun runner, but do some of these people not even train??????

Trawled through photos on Journal & Evening Chronicle sites last night, no sign of the "All 29 Club" & our GNR Birthday cake. If you were at the Health & Fitness show on Saturday (18 Sept) between 2pm -3pm. you'll have witnessed us having our photo taken in front of the Tyne Bridge floral display.
The race itself went well, considering I've been basically running on one leg for the last couple of months. I think when I fell on ice (twice) in the Lake District (Keswick), I've done more damage than I thought. Got to 4 miles before having to jog/walk the rest of the way.
At the finish couldn't see my Charity's (Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research) tent so headed straight for the massage tent & having a blue & white striped "I've done em all number came in handy as I was able to que jump. At this point the rain started, so I listerned to Tony Audensahw (Bob Hope -Emmerdale) & his band White Van Man, before heading off home. Que for the Metro was the longest I've ever seen it & it took me almost as long to get home as it did to do the the run.
Have requested a reminder for 2011, so hope to see you all on Sept 18.

sorry taken me forever to get back on here. I did 2.09 and a PB for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back next year. I had a mare and couldnt get in zone D and had to keep going backwards to zone E. I only managed to get there by the skin of my teeth!
I raised over £400 for Cystic Fibrosis. I wasnt wearing my Fetch top point i yelled at those on fetchpoint and I was looked at by surprise and shouted at back as i ran past!! so thanks for that!
