I never by Brooks. The trail ones (Cascadia) were on cheap at TK Maxx have fallen apart on upper after 500 miles. My Inov-8s would last 1000. So I wasn't impressed. G'luck. :-) G

I love my Brooks Vapors - great long run road shoe, they are the only make I get really good mileage out of, very comfortable.

I've been a Brooks boy from running day one. All for road running:

Vapor - my first ever running shoe, they were fine.
Adrenaline - have had many of these, usually buy "last season" or the season before to save a few quid.
Ghost - hated them, they were still ripping my feet to shreds even after breaking them in.
Glycerin - very comfy, will go back to these.

I use the Ghosts as I don't think any other shoe has a wide enough fit. I find them very comfortable and always feel right as I put them on after trying lots of other shoes.

Everyone's different though.

I only ever use Brooks Vapors (stability shoe). They work for me, and I’ve had no reason to risk injury by experimenting with other shoes. I’d steer clear of the Vapor 3 model though, as they changed the design and you tend to end up with a hole in the toe box.

I should add that I only started with Vapors in the first instance after a fitting and gait analysis at my local run4it store. They’ve been reluctant to recommend anything with a lower ‘drop’ for me, and if I’ve asked about other shoes they’ve been quick to point out where they’re more expensive and heavier.

I know it's an old thread, but the title works for me!

I have worn Brooks shoes ever since starting running about 10 years ago.

I was originally advised to go for the Adrenaline GTS as a moderate overpronator in need of some cushioning. All was good until the release of the GTS 14 (in 2014!) which apparently was a bit of a failed experiment and lacked the expected cushioning. I switched to the Vapor on advice from a guru in a specialist shop whose views I respect. Now i am in the process of switching back to the Adrenaline GTS 18 as it is apparently back to its usual standard. Also, the Vapor seems harder to find (which is actually what led me to reconsider).

I did get a couple of pairs of Brooks Ravenna last year - after different specialist advice and a treadmill assessment - but my original guru is convinced this was not a good move. They were comfortable, but seemed to lack the required support on longer runs (HM, marathon).

While I am happy to be going back to the Adrenaline, I must say that I find the whole business of choosing shoes very confusing. Brooks must have at least ten different models in their line-up and the more I read about them, the less clear I am on what the distinctions are. I'm sure it's the same with all the other major manufacturers too ...
