I felt OFAH had gone on a bit too long even before they did the trilogy that lead to them getting rich (series 7 is pretty forgettable from memory). Although I did think that would have been the best way to just end it and never return.

Whatever followed 'Porridge' would have had the original hard act to follow.
As for OFAH, when Jason achieved demigod status, the quality could be allowed to slide.

My favourite American sitcom (Scrubs) came to a perfect end with the finale of Season 8. I cried happily pretty much throughout.
They then made Season 9. Why I have no idea. I've never watched it.

I've watched a bit of Season 9 of Scrubs. To call it shite is offensive to excrement everywhere.

I quite liked Scrubs.
Cheers is my US favourite, 'NORM', early on though, before Kirsty Alleyway.
Frasier was good early on, maintained a good standard but depended on farce quite a bit.
Taxi was up there.
Parks and Recreation caught my fancy for a bit.
Bib Bang, no thanks, it was like watching people I worked with, in fact they started acting like that, just like Friends, which was and is and forever will be, tripe.

I really disliked Parks and Recreation on the evidence of the single episode I watched.
I'm tepid about Big Bang Theory. I've watched half of the first series and will shed no tears if I see no more.
Good shouts about Cheers/Frasier.
Not sure it counts as a sitcom but I absolutely *LOVED* Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip.

Parks and Rec was one of my faves but a) the first season was a bit pants and b) they would throw a few duffers out there each season.
Frasier was particularly good because they could mix silly farce/slapstick with witty wordplay.

I love TBBT. Possibly because barenaked ladies did the theme tune.

30 Rock as well - that was great fun. (And was partially responsible for the demise of Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip)

The Still Game team made a Glaswegian version of Parks & Rec, called Dear Green Place.
It was shite.
