Ahem. Ch 4 made Brookside. And Hollyoaks. So it should go and sit in a corner and consider its position.

The Liver Birds was before my time but in terms of dreadful Carla Lane stuff, is Bread on the list?
By contrast, on the "awful but I secretly love it", I'll be very upset if Last of the Summer Wine isn't on the list...

Ah, A. J. W. Bell's baby, directed and produced by him. Most times, the Holme valley scenery would detract sufficiently from the hackneyed script but it remained tediously formulaic.
Oh, did I mention that I had a part, with a contract, in an episode Of 'Last Of The...'?

If you did, I'd forgotten it! - what was the part?
Agreed on the scenery over plot factor - although I do have a soft spot for the Foggy/Compo/Clegg imperial period.

Yep, the original trio meshed together so well - so convincing that I used to see myself in one or more of the characters 20-30 years hence!
I was pressed into service as a van driver by the director, as one hadn't been cast. I'd brought a van with a tail lift to the set for a visual gag involving crushed boxes of china and signed the contract, resting it on the roof of a car. I wrote a blog about this but can't find it for the moment. Non-speaking role, of course.

I think LOTSW part of the attraction was...the life.
Just a bunch of mates, seemingly no responsibilities, nothing to do but arse around all day.
You can kind of remember days like that during school summer holidays, always a nice thought there may be a few more similar coming in your latter years.
Never found it funny, but kind of watchable anyway...

There's a Myers-Brigg variant - what LotSW character are you? I suspect I'm probably somewhere between Wesley and Wally...

Swittle, you didn't have to roll down hill in a bath, or get carried away on a giant kite, or sail down the local river in a different bath, get locked in the book of a driverless car, or maybe cause traffic chaos on a motorised wheelchair?
